MCA Denver
Colorado in the Present Tense: Narkita Gold, Rick Griffith, Nathan Hall, and Maia Ruth Lee centers on how artists of the Colorado region are absorbing, responding to, grappling with, and reimagining the upended world in which we presently find ourselves.
Narkita Gold’s project, Black in Denver features 100 portraits of those who identify as Black, living in the Denver community. A multi-year project, MCA Denver will exhibit the most comprehensive presentation of Gold’s photographic and text-based series. Celebrating the immense richness of Denver’s Black community, Black in Denver is a joyful, vibrant, and layered testament to what makes this city so singular and how Denver can best elevate and honor those singular voices.
