Matthew Pevear (b. 1993, Winthrop, MA) is an artist currently based in Denver. Traditionally working in photography, Pevear’s work looks to explore the banal and ubiquitous. Focusing on simple scenes found in the everyday, his work extracts the subtle, yet complicated, imagery that exists in daily life. Pevear recently completed solo exhibitions with the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art in Boulder, Colorado, and DATELINE Gallery in Denver, Colorado and has self-published two volumes of art photography books.

Sonia Soberats’ relationship with photography didn’t begin until she lost her eyesight to glaucoma in the early 1990’s. Soberats uses the technique of Light Painting — a photographic process utilizing lengthy exposures in total darkness and hand-held light sources — with which Sonia is able to feel, shape, and embellish her subjects. Sonia is a co-founder and member of the New York based collective for blind photographers, Seeing With Photography. Sonia’s work poses fundamental questions about the notion of visual culture and about the relationship between perception, imagination, and creation. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums around the world.

Public Art Exhibition
SaveArtSpace and Colorado Photographic Arts Center are pleased to present In A Time Of Change, a public art exhibition for the Month of Photography Denver. The selected artists are Whitney Bradshaw, Everything Is Collective, Juan Fuentes, Danielle Webster, Thiago Dezan & Infinite, Susan Goldstein, Carl Bower, Eric Mitchell, Cypriane Williams, and Grace Coudal. Curated by Samantha Johnston and Benjamin Rasmussen.
As we move through a global pandemic, public art continues to allow us to identify and address our struggle with the hope of finding new, positive paths forward. While we social distance, we are still able to come together through the act of art making and imbue spaces with our creativity.
During the week of March 1, 2021, SaveArtSpace will launch public art installations for each selected work on billboard ad spaces in Denver. The public art will be on view for at least one month.

The Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC) is collaborating with Indigenous Photograph to curate an outdoor exhibition that will be digitally projected on the Daniels & Fisher Tower as part of Night Lights Denver during the 2021 Month of Photography Festival.
This work was created by members of Indigenous Photograph, a global community of visual storytellers who come from a diverse range of Indigenous communities across six continents.
“Together, these images constitute a portrait of life during 2020. And though we struggled through the COVID-19 pandemic and widespread civil unrest from the United States to Nigeria to Hong Kong, we hope these photos will also show you some quieter moments of hope and connectivity from life across Indigenous territories.”
Special thanks to The Denver Theatre District and Night Lights Denver for making this exhibition possible and supporting the 2021 Month of Photography Denver festival.
