Based in Denver, Barbara Gal comes from a long family tradition of compulsive photographers. She grew up surrounded by photography, and was inspired by her family's massive collection of prints dating back to the 1890s. She began photographing at age 10 and taught art and photography at high schools for 26 years. Later, she taught at the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design and the University of Denver. Now retired, Gal works as a full time artist and is a member of 40 West Gallery and NEXT Gallery, both in Denver. A Photographic Life is a summary of her 65 years as a photographer and artist.

Gallery hours are Fridays, 6 - 10 PM, Saturdays and Sundays, 12 - 5 PM. Also open by appointment.
