Featuring new work by Narkita Gold, created in collaboration with PlatteForum’s ArtLab interns.

Narkita Gold’s first artistic endeavor, Black in Denver, is a visual ethnography that investigates identity, specifically in small Black communities. Her work also examines solitude, isolation, and the evolution of the self. As a Resident Artist at PlatteForum, she will present a twofold installation that includes select Black in Denver portraits and an installation titled Journey to Liberation, reflecting on her personal spiritual journey.

During her artist residency, Gold will be leading PlatteForum’s ArtLab interns through workshops exploring identity and the Japanese of art of kintsugi, a process of repair which offers lessons about resilience, healing, and finding beauty in imperfection.

Visit platteforum.org for registration details.
