To celebrate Month of Photography, the Denver Art Museum has organized a three-part virtual lecture series spotlighting Colorado photographers from the local creative community. Our final lecture of the series features Tya Alisa Anthony.
Tya Alisa Anthony uses photography, collage, and sculpture to give a voice to the stories of often marginalized people and the social, economic and natural environments that surround them. In her work, she is interested in issues relating to social justice and identity, in reimagining histories, and in creating autonomous spaces for bodies of color. Tya Alisa Anthony is part of TANK Studios, was an artist-in-residence at RedLine in 2018, and is the executive director and founder of Mahogany Vu Contemporary art, an online gallery for BIPOC.
