Distinguished Pittsburg-based artist Alisha B. Wormsley presents a free virtual Artist Talk as part of the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design’s Visiting Artist, Scholar, and Designer (VASD) Program’s World Building series. The World Building series explores the ways artists and designers are constructing fully-formed, immersive universes that re-contextualize our past, re-orient our present, and project new, future realities.
Wormsley is an interdisciplinary artist and cultural producer. Her work is about collective memory and the synchronicity of time, specifically through the stories of women of color, more specifically Black Women in America. In addition to her artist talk, a solo exhibition of Wormsley’s work titled The Space I Am In is presented at RMCAD’s Philip J. Steel Gallery from March 1 – April 30, 2021.
