FAQ: General

What is Month of Photography?

Month of photography Denver is a biennial festival that celebrates the art of photography through public exhibitions and events across the region. Learn more in our About section and History section.

When is it?

The next MoP will take place March 1 – 31, 2025.

Where is it?

The Month of Photography Denver festival headquarters is the Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC), located at 1200 Lincoln Street in Denver’s Golden Triangle Creative District. Participating spaces include museums, galleries, arts centers, businesses, and other spaces located throughout the Denver metro region, Boulder, Fort Collins, and beyond. The festival is one of the largest arts events in Colorado, with more than 100 exhibitions, artist talks, and other events at more than 50 participating spaces. Start your MOP journey at CPAC, where you can pick up a festival guide and talk to our friendly staff, who can offer helpful guidance and recommendations.

Is it free to attend?

The majority of exhibitions will be free to attend, though some venues will host paid, ticketed events. Events such as workshops and the Month of Photography Portfolio Reviews require a registration fee.

Can I show my work or another photographer’s work?

If you are a photographer, you may browse any MoP Calls for Entry. If you own a venue, you may list your event on the MoP website.

What safety precautions are in place to keep people safe from Covid-19?
We are committed to the health and safety of our participating photographers, reviewers, exhibiting artists, staff, volunteers and all others in our community who will be joining us in Denver.

To maintain the health and safety of the MOP Portfolio Reviews, we ask that participants, including photographers, reviewers, and volunteers, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Masks will be available at The Curtis Hotel for those who need them, and hand sanitizer will be available in higher-traffic areas of the hotel.

CPAC continues to monitor the health and safety protocols issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and will provide any important updates to participants if the response to COVID-19 changes.

Can I volunteer?

Absolutely! Please fill out the Volunteer form so we can get in touch with you.
