The City of Lone Tree is seeking submissions for a Arts Commissioners’ Choice exhibit titled “Into the Rearview Mirror: A look back at 2020” for display at the Lone Tree Arts Center in the Spring of 2021. The show will run from March 3 – May 23, 2021. The Lone Tree Arts Commission is looking for conceptual works that respond to the unprecedented year of 2020. We are especially interested in Artist’s response to the following themes:
• isolation or deeper connections and how it changed your work
• the movement towards racial justice in America
• work about frontline healthcare worker’s taxing mission
• stories of family resilience
• responses to a politically divided nation
• how artists are expressing human condition
Any additional compelling, humorous and powerful themes arising from last year are welcome. We are a municipal arts center promoting high-quality, artistic expression. We encourage evocative, compelling work; however, imagery that is menacing, derogatory, violent, or overtly sexual will not be accepted.
