Internships are open to undergraduate and graduate college students; artists from a variety of backgrounds or mediums; and individuals interested in the arts and or nonprofit field.
You must be at least 18 & have graduated from high school.

We’re in search of hard-working, flexible, reliable interns who are considering a career in the arts, arts education, PR & Marketing, and/or the nonprofit sector. Internships are ideal for someone seeking hands-on experience, an opportunity to build relationships with experienced professionals, and who want a behind-the-scenes look at festival programming, planning, and promotion.
The festival will include 100+ exhibitions and events at more than 75 spaces throughout the Denver Metro region and beyond. It will engage at least 20,000 people and create exhibition opportunities for more than 500 local, national, and international photographers. It will also include two days of portfolio reviews, a public portfolio walk, artist talks, tours, and more. Most of the planning for the 2027 festival will occur in 2026.
MOP Intern – General
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Administrative support specifically related to programming and planning of MoP 2027
Assist with preparation and delivery of MOP Portfolio Reviews and portfolio walkthrough, must be available for March 12 & 13, 2027, non-negotiable
Assist with the maintenance of the MoP website through WordPress
Assist with organization of certain events, and attend when possible (these can include artist talks, tours, exhibition openings, workshops, community meetings)
Help build surveys through Jotform to track information and metrics for grant opportunities
Data entry and research collection
Help with managing general MOP info@ email

October 2026 to April 2027
1-2 days a week in 2026, 2-3 days a week in 2027
Internship Requirements
Onsite participation, remote work unavailable
120 hours of work to receive full credit and stipend
Superior customer service, needs to be comfortable with reaching out to participating venues and artists
Detail oriented and highly organized
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is required for all internship positions
Experience with WordPress desired
Knowledge of photography, Adobe Creative Cloud, and graphic skills are a plus!
Compensation
Receive a stipend of $700 upon completion of required commitment — 120 hours

MOP Intern – Social Media
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Help to organize and create a weekly social media schedule for the festival based on the Month of Photography Social Media Strategy/Design Template
Build posts in the program Later for Facebook and Instagram, including selecting images or creating graphics, and writing inspirational, original content to excite people to engage with the festival in a variety of ways
Research exhibitions, events, talks, tours, and more, to include information and relevant links within content
Assist with MOP emails through Mailchimp
Assist with the maintenance of the MOP website through WordPress, including preparing event and call for entry submissions for the event calendar
Record marketing metrics for social media platforms to track growth and engagement (in particular for grants)
Attend certain events during the festival when possible to take images or video of event for social media, website promotion, and other printed materials
Must be available for March 12 & 13, 2027 (non-negotiable) for MoP Portfolio Reviews and Portfolio Walkthrough
